Question by Harry T: Best site for discount shopping online? Which comparison shopping engine or coupon site is the best?

Best answer:

Answer by orion
I think the two types of sites, coupons and comparison shopping, are very different depending on what you are looking to buy. If you know kinda what you want to buy, or the store you want to shop at, it makes a lot of sense to use a coupon site and see if you can add some extra savings at the end. If you are browsing to figure reveal what to buy, i.e. I want to buy a digital camera, but I’m not sure which one, comparison shopping is the place to go. Those sites will give you a lot of products to choose from, and you can see the prices from lots of different internet stores. My favorites? I like couponmountain.com for a good general overview of all the top coupons from big internet stores. I also like to look at the forums on slickdeals.net. They have some great deals there, but you have to work a little harder to find them. For comparison shopping, I like the layout of shopping.com, but I’m also finding good wad on smarter.com. I really like their product videos where average folks like you and me show off our latest toys and tell people what’s good or bad about them.

Because of its reputation with the tuner crowd and, probably, its appearance in various racing games, the 2012 Lancer Evolution is likely by far the most easily recognized Mitsubishi in Alberta. The Lancer EVO, is a performance legend to a certain set. The 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has more sophisticated bones, track-honed components, and serious performance hardware that makes it capable of outperforming much more expensive sports cars. Essentially, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution looks like a tuner car–like an economy car on steroids–much more than it looks like exotic sports machine. An up-close look will probably elicit shrugs from those who don’t get their performance potential. While the look is not all that special, there’s a lot to love in the driving experience for this model. The Evolution packs a 291-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, The Evo’s engine is peaky, with more turbo lag, and it delivers its power in frenzy at the top of the rev band. Shifts are made either through a sturdy five-speed manual, which is good but a bit notchy, or a six-speed automated manual transmission, termed Twin Clutch-SST, which pulls off snappy shifts like a track pro when you tap into all the power. To get all the power to the road smoothly, this model includes Super All-Wheel Control, an Active Center Differential, a helical gear front differential, and Active Yaw Control. The 2012 Mitsubishi Evolution handles crisply, like performance cars. More …

Question by AugustWind: Comparison shopping sites and SEO.?
Do comparison shopping sites like MySimon, PriceGrabber, Dealio, Shopping.com, Frucall and such provide any link building and SEO benefit?

Best answer:

Answer by PPrestipino
My initital thought is “some, but not much” because most of these sites create pages dynamically and when they do link to you it’s through a redirect. On top of that, I’m not sure you can define how they link to you so it’s ends up being a button or some abstract term like “buy now” which isn’t going to help much. Those connected that I looked at however do not have no follow attributes on them so they may pass some overvalue. I would staring at comparison shopping sites as more of a product marketed opportunity as opposed to SEO alone.

What do you think? Answer below!

Custom T-Shirt Design at SuperCustomShirts.com

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 27, 2012

As consumers become increasingly dependent upon online services like Google to help them discover products and services to fit their needs, questions about consumer protection become more important than ever. If a business appears at the top of the Google search results, does it mean that business offers the best service or lowest prices? Not necessarily.

When Google recently released an update to their algorithm, David Hall, owner of SuperCustomShirts.com began researching the search results in his industry and comparing the businesses at the top of the search results to his own services. “When Business Owners, Brand Managers, Event Organizers, Team Coaches, Bands and regular people with great ideas decide that it’s time to print custom shirts or just about anything with their design on it, they will typically turn to Google. And because of that, millions of consumers are being funneled into websites are clearly not offering the best solutions for their needs” said Hall.

Google’s search result pages are the result of an algorithm that does not consider price or quality of service. So how can consumers find the best solutions to fit their needs. It is a simple question to answer really, but it does take a bit of research that the average consumer may not bother doing. Hall researched the following scenario:

“An organization has a need for 50 black Gildan Ultra t-shirts with a four color custom printed design on both the front and back. So the manager turns to the all powerful Google and searches for “custom t-shirts” and is presented with a list of results. The results are dominated by some of the industries biggest online companies including Zazzle.com, CustomInk.com, CafePress.com, and VistaPrint.com. However, upon shopping each of these sites the manager finds that there are significant price differences among them” said Hall. Each of these sitting charges the following to fulfill the specified order:

 Zazzle.com = $ 1,278.00 CafePress.com = $ 1,209.50 VistaPrint.com = $ 923.50 CustomInk.com = $ 844.50 SuperCustomShirts.com = $ 710.90

“Upon further research the manager could also find SuperCustomShirts.com, a company that has been in business in San Diego for 35 years, producing quality screen printing, and will fulfill the same order for just $ 710.90. A savings of between $ 133-$ 568 dollars on an order of just 50 shirts compared to the competitors that dominate Google’s search results. While the price clearly shows that these are cheap custom t-shirts,” said Ron Hall, Co-Owner of SuperCustomShirts.com and a 38 year veteran of the screen printing industry, “the actual shirt being used in this research is the same and the silk screen process we use to print them is the highest quality available. In fact at least one of these companies uses “Iron-On” heat transfers, which are very poor quality because they don’t stand up to many washes.”

How would a consumer find a niche solution like SuperCustomShirts.com? David Hall suggests “do some deeper research than just the first page of Google and then actually do some comparison shopping. They could also check some Q&A forums and ask around on social networks. Technology is great, but if you want to get the best prices and quality, you can’t just accept what search engines are spoon feeding you.”

“The problem is that Google uses an algorithm with over 300 factors to index and judge all webpages. While many of these factors are selfsame indicative of eminent quality, authoritative and trust worthy sites, there are also many loopholes that can be exploit by companies that tinned afford to exploit them” said Hall. “This is really the heart of the problem because companies that charge more, typically make larger profit margins and can then use that additional revenue to buy more links, advertising, content syndication and other factor that allow them to manipulate the search results. Thus, what tends to happen is that the companies that offer the lowest prices, simply can’t afford to pay for what it takes to rank number ane in Google.”

For consumers willing and able to do a bit of their own research, there are great companies like SuperCustomShirts.com out there ready to offer high quality products at prices that may be better than their larger competitors. Then it’s up to every conscientious consumer to spread the word.

Point Lookout, New York (PRWEB) April 27, 2012

In less then 2 years of the initial launch of Textbook-Coupons.com, the site is estimated to have saved college students over $ 200,000 on their textbooks. The site functions quite simply; it allows users to access coupon codes for the top online textbooks companies and minimize their book expenses.

The founder of Textbook Coupons, Jacob King an Internet Marketer and Entrepreneur, realized the need for such a site while attending the University of Oregon. Being savvy with online coupons and shopping for low priced textbooks online is how the connection was formed.

“What started as just a weekend communicating is becoming a widely known brand among college textbook shoppers and we are excite to continue fueling its growth,” states King.

In recent months the site has undergone two major changes:

First they have added a new logo and character as the face of TextbookCoupons.com. The logo convey a clean web 2.0 feel accompanied by a friendly college student cartoon character.

“The second and most substantial change has been moving our domain to TextbookCoupons.com and removing the dash. This gives us many new opportunities to market the site and will hopefully increase our visitor loyalty and brand recognition,” states King.

With the change of “Textbook-Coupons.com” to “TextbookcCoupons.com” King plans to continue investing heavily in marketing creating a strong position for the Fall 2012 textbook rush. Everyone part of the TextbookCoupons.com team are extremely excited to see the site continue its rapid growth and evolution.

“Ultimately we hope TextbookCoupons.com will going a destination for college students buying textbooks online. The #1 spot for college students to find the best deals amongst textbook retail/rental sites,” concludes King.

Homepage: TextbookCoupons.com

About: Textbook Coupons was founded in late 2010 with sights set on becoming the top site for online textbook savings. Different then your typical price comparison engine, the site allows users to find the best deals on their favorite textbook companies and maximize savings. Its been a while ride since the start and everyone involved looks forward to a bright future.

Hidden Costs

(PRWEB UK) 25 April 2012

The recent investigation by consumer group ‘Which?’ has highlighted that some home and car insurance providers are charging high fees for standard policy changes and renewals. The described highlighted examples of charges of about £30 -£35 to change simple details such as a surname or address. More surprisingly the consumer group also named and shamed insurance firms that charge drivers a fee for renewing and setting up their policies.

The report went on to look at the levels of absorbed being charged to motorists who choose to pay their insurance in instalments rather than in a single lump sum. Most of the companies investigated were found to be charging between 29% and 32% in interest dependent upon the policy type.

All of these charged are often interred in policy small print and the report appealed to insurers to doing sure information relating to fees is more clearly published on websites and within policy documentation.

Andrew Goulborn, Commercial Director for Tiger.co.uk commented: “Shoppers need to be savvy and always check the small print. Using sites like Tiger.co.uk to compare car insurance provides motorists with the perfect opportunity to shop around, check through the policy details and click through to provider sites to read more if postulate. We would also suggest that shoppers to always try to pay their premium in one single instalment so as not to incur interest charges. A good way to do this is to pay on a 0% on purchases credit card so that you can pay the sum back with no interest over a given period”.

These are just some short samples covering this subject, the 48k downloads are available here soundcloud.com These are straight in to Logic Pro 9 with NO adjusting at all, hence the low levels. The indicate of this was to compare the recording between both audio interfaces and you can hear for yourself the level difference between the two. Both were set as near as the same values as below – RME Babyface Mic Gain for acoustic +36db Bass DI +10 Apogee Duet II Mic Gain +35db Bass DI +10 So, although on paper the Duet II has more gain/headroom on the mic preamps they are lower in taken than the Babyface when set to the same levels however, it is the other way round with the Duet II being louder on the instrument input channel. Both are excellent units but for my money the Babyface offers so much more, it sounds nicer on playback and has midi ready to go. The Duet II is a louder unit on playback with a slightly toppy edge to it for my liking, this became more apparent when using good headphones. The Duet II can’t be expanded (The Babyface has ADAT functionality for an additional 8 mic pres or other uses …
Video Rating: 4 / 5

HealthCompare Generates Infographics To Educate Today’s Health Insurance Consumers

Orange, California (PRWEB) April 23, 2012

Health insurance consumers can rely on HealthCompare for education when it comes to health insurance hardships. As an online comparison site, HealthCompare inspires shoppers to learn as much as they can before making any decisions regarding their medical coverage.

They spur this education on health insurance hardships with their infographics. Understanding how difficult this subject can be to understand for shoppers, these new graphics simplify ideas that may otherwise be difficult to understand.

Infographics are beautiful to look at, easy to understand, and highly shareable because they take ideas that are often composed of jargon and difficult lingo and put them in an attractive package. Scientific studies, case studies, data points and other information is often hard to understand by those that are not used to dealing with such information.

By creating infographics that are beautiful and pleasing, HealthCompare insures consumers will know what lies ahead when they are shopping for health care coverage that is effective and affordable. Visitors to their website are encouraged to ask themselves this series of questions prior to making their health insurance decisions:

What are the consumers current health care needs? Do they currently require medication? Does the consumer have a pre-existing condition? Or are they seeking to start a family in the near future?

Does the financial state of the shopper allow for a lower deductible, thusly giving them a higher monthly premium? Or would having a high deductible (and therefore lower monthly premium) be more beneficial?

Is the consumer’s physician a factor? If they prefer to continue seeing their doctor of choice, HealthCompare helps them decide what policies allow that.

Are there any other health insurance options for the shopper, such as spouse or parent plan?

Once consumers get their quotes, HealthCompare then helps them narrow their decisions by prompting them to ask further questions, like:

How much will the policies being compared cost them from their pocket when considering deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pays?

What will the policies being compared offer in terms of maximum out-of-pocket expense?

Will the consumer’s office visits be covered?

Do any of the policies up for comparison offer maternity?

Is prescription drug coverage an option?

How much will the consumer pay for emergency services and ambulances?

Will the current primary physician and local hospitals be accepted under any of the policies being considered?

Health insurance costs are much more involved than mere premiums and buyers must carefully consider all out of pocket expenses to understand what their policies will ultimately cost them.

HealthCompare wants health insurance buyers to be informed, which is why they have designed this series of infographics to help modern consumers get smarter faster.

This series includes:

Cheap Health Insurance – Designed to help uncover details about cheap health insurance

Are Health Insurance Brokers Necessary To Buy Medical Coverage – Educates consumers on the pros and cons of using a health insurance broker

Health insurance comparisons made easy – Explains how simple health insurance comparisons can be

How to Find Health Insurance Quotes – Teaches consumers the right way to find quotes

Insurance for Self Employed People Doesn’t Have to be Expensive – Explains options when it comes to self-employed people

The other releases of infographics can be found here.

Using these beautifully designed infographics, consumers will understand the necessity of health insurance, the differences between types, and the correct way to make sure they are getting the best quote possible.
