The Emergence Of Comparison Shopping On A Cell Phone

Michael Brito asked:

If you are like many consumers, you spend considerable amount of time in front of your computer screen researching products and comparing prices. This can be a great way for you to find what you want at great savings all from the ease of your personal computer. Still, it isn’t the most efficient way for you to shop. For one, actually having the opportunity to handle the product before making a purchase is impossible unless you have already previewed the item in a store. By the time you look over an item and go home to surf the ‘net to compare prices, hours can be eaten up all in a bid to save yourself a few bucks. Sounds inefficient, doesn’t it? Well, that’s all changing as consumers can now do comparison shopping in the store by using their mobile phone. That’s right, your cell phone can clue you in quickly and allow you to place an order on the spot. Keep reading and we’ll take a look at this exploding consumer choice phenomenon.

Pay a visit to your favorite big box retailer and you can spend plenty of time comparing products before narrowing down your choices to a clear cut winner. As you make your way to the checkout you can’t help wondering if the price you are paying for the item is the lowest price around. Kmart has one price, but you also know that WalMart, Target, and several other retailers probably also sell the same item. Trouble is, they are scattered miles apart and who has the time or money for gas to go from store to store? Enter Frucall.

Yes, from the convenience of your cell phone you can call a phone number, enter in product code information, and moments later retrieve information as to where you can get the item for the best new and used prices, and get estimated shipping costs for both. Most importantly, if you are standing in Kmart and learn that the price of the same product is cheaper at Target, you don’t have to run over to Target to get it. Instead, you can order the product right from your cell phone and have it delivered to your door. Gone are the “I wonder if I could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere” worries as Frucall helps you snag the item for the lowest possible price that there is.

Frucall is a free service that works like this: simply find the UPC bar code information on any product and voice enter it into your cell phone via the designated phone number given to you by Frucall when you signed up for their service. Frucall then searches Amazon’s Web Service and Yahoo! Shopping to find the lowest prices. When the results come back you can either order the product on the spot or store the information for future reference. If you learn that you will need the information again, you can retrieve what you stored and order it.

Frucall revolutionizes comparison shopping by using a mobile phone to help you retrieve results accurately and quickly. It is this sort of portability which allows consumers to make on-the-spot informed decisions about potential purchases that cannot be achieved by using a computer alone. By combining the power of previewing a product first with the lowest available prices, consumers are empowered to make the best purchase decision each and every time that they shop; a sure way to achieve savings every time you shop.

Best of all Frucall is free and certain to catch on with savvy shoppers just like you. What are you waiting for? Sign up for Frucall today and start saving on all of your purchases tomorrow.

Comparison Shopping for Barack Obama Shirts and Posters

Gen Wright asked:

The results are out – Barack Obama has won the presidential election! If you are a strong supporter of Obama, perhaps now is the time to buy some Obama merchandise and join in the celebrations. There are many different ways you can get your hands on some high quality Obama products. Such products include posters, shirts, calendars, coins, and more. One of the most convenient way to shop for affordable Obama merchandise is to visit an auction comparison shopping website.

How an auction shopping comparison site works.

An auction shopping comparison site allow you to compare between auctions. You can do so because important information such as number of bids, bid price, and time left for each auction will be presented in a well organized manner. You may also browse by categories if you like.

This is a great way to source for good deals. For instance, if you want to buy an Obama shirt, you can look at the competition that the auction has. The more bids an auction has, the more popular the item. This also means that you may need to pay a higher price for the item. However, some auctions may not have as many bids. The items may be high quality items that are overlooked. Hence the low number of bids. These are the deals that you should be looking out for.

From the comparison table, it is easy to tell the good deals apart from the not so good ones. If you manage to find a good deal, there is no need to be in too much of a hurry to place a bid. This will only attract the attention of competitors, who may try to outbid you. Try placing a bid only when an auction is about to end (i.e. during the last few hours). This information is provided by the auction comparison site.

Items for sale on auction sites may be brand new items or second hand items. This will be disclosed in the product description. You can check out the physical condition of the product from the online photos. If the auction gets too competitive, sometimes it may be better to buy a new item.

Fortunately, a new auction comparison site called Obama-Posters.com allows you to compare prices between a new product offered by established ecommerce sites such as Buy.com, Pinatas.com, or Amazon. You can immediately tell if the price of an auction has gone way too high just by monitoring the prices. If that’s the case, you may be better off buying a new product directly from an ecommerce retailer.

If you want to place a bid, simply click on the product title and you will be directed to the actual auction site. You may then be asked to create an account for free. If you already have an account, feel free to login and place your bids. For all you know, you may get lucky in the next couple of hours and end up with some really great Obama shirts and posters!

Frys Electronic Store – is it really worth to shop there because it’s cheaper?

Live, laugh, love asked:

Is Frys reliable? As in, are the workers helpful and products in good quality in comparison to Best Buy?

We’re buying a new computer ( the whole set ) and I think we should buy it from Best Buy… but my uncle argues that we should go to Frys because Frys is cheaper.

Any input? Or any experience at shopping at Frys? (Because I personally know Best Buy has pretty good service)

Thanks!

Comparison Shopping: Its Cheap and Best

Adam Jaylin asked:

The term is amply clear in itself and it doesn’t need any further elucidation on it. In fact this concept has gained quite a widespread popularity in the recent times. And it has increased all the more with the emergence of Internet shopping. The fundamental that lies behind this comparison shopping is to find the best deal or product in the lowest possible price.

This is rather an age old fundamental that goes behind comparison shopping. From the good old times, squandering wealth has always termed as vice and optimum utilization of the resources had been preached as the wise way to live. There is no dearth of bargain hunters who are constantly looking for the best way to save their hard earned money. For achieving this purpose they are supposed to do a lot of shop hopping in order to find the best deal possible. However, the difference lies in the medium. We are talking of probing as many websites as possible in order to get the deal of your choice. There is another trend that has come in the form of cash back shopping where you can claim a certain money back on a particular purchase. In this way, it has also come to become as another way to allure the prospective buyers towards these websites.

You might as well find some dedicated comparison shopping websites that are wholly working to provide its users with the comparison of the best deals at a single place that makes it more convenient for the user to finally choose the best available deal and save bucks on his shopping. The best way to visit one of these comparison shopping portals is to find them on search engines that will further facilitate your shopping by showing the best comparison shopping websites on the Internet.

So embrace the mantra of comparison and change the way you shop. The rest is assured!

Why Online Comparison Shopping Works

Michael Brito asked:

Everyday, thousands of consumers are comparing prices and buying products online to satisfy their wants, needs and desires. It has become a way of life for many. Experts are now asking themselves and wondering why the appeal for online shopping is suddenly evolving into a new trend. A recent Forrester study of online comparison shopping asked several hundred consumers why they shop online and the results were not surprising: bargains and convenience. These two reasons coupled with thousands of online comparison shopping services are making the case for an Internet revolution that will benefit the value conscious consumer. Here are a few reasons why online comparison shopping works.

Stress Free Transactions

How many times have you been standing in line at the mall somewhere debating with yourself about whether or not you actually need the pair of shoes you are holding? The internal debate isn’t necessarily about the cost or the color of the shoes. No, it’s more about you not wanting to wait in the horrific long line for the $60 pair of shoes. Sounds too familiar, doesn’t it?

What about the parking fiasco when you arrived at the mall? Perhaps you are still irritated with the person who cut in front of you and stole that first row space in the parking lot, which caused you to park more than a mile away. Suddenly, your trip to the mall doesn’t seem to be giving you what you expected.

These are just a few reasons why online comparison shopping is taking off. It’s easy, convenient and you can buy exactly the same thing online as you can at the mall. It’s a stress free transaction that allows you to make purchases online and from the comfort of your own home.

Instant Gratification, or Not?

We currently live in a world where drive-thru restaurants dominate every street corner; high-speed internet is growing rapidly and microwave ovens. We are a society that thrives and operates on instant gratification. But, there needs to be a point where you have to wonder what that frozen roast beef dinner or Big Mac is really doing to your internal organs.

This is one disadvantage of online comparison shopping. That is, you actually have to wait a day or two before you can actually receive the products. But, what if you can get the same pair of shoes online for half the price? The fact is that comparison shopping on the internet can save you thousands of dollars per year. The reason why it’s cheaper online is that online retailers do not have to mark up the products 100% like the retailers do because they don’t have sales agents to pay, an electricity bill, or the rental fees to the mall. Comparison shopping is really a no brainer for those consumers who are looking to save some serious coin.

The People Factor

So, who really wants to sit behind a computer screen shopping online by yourself while Carpal Tunnel Syndrome begins to grow in your wrists? The fact of the matter is that even though we live in high speed world where everyone is connected by email, instant messaging and chat, we still want and need human interaction. It’s important for our self being to be around others and engage in conversations. No, this is not a contradiction to earlier statements made, but rather the introduction of an awesome innovation that is taking online comparison shopping to the next level.

Now, imagine yourself at the mall again looking at the same pair of shoes that you desperately want and need; and then noticing that horrific line. What if you were to dial a phone number, punch in the barcode of the shoes and wait for a few seconds while a database will search the internet to see where you can buy them cheaper? A computerized voice will then confirm the name of the product and provide the product’s price on Amazon.com and/or Yahoo! Shopping, whichever is cheaper. You can then bookmark that product, go to a website and pay for it later.

Yes, it’s here and it’s called Frucall. Frucall is a free phone-based price-comparison shopping service for consumers to compare prices and purchase products using their cell phones, anywhere, anytime. Frucall blends the benefits of in-store shopping with the flexible nature of shopping online; providing consumers with a unique mobile shopping experience.

Online Comparison Shopping Made Even Easier

Michael Brito asked:

Jane is a value conscious shopper. She is always looking to compare prices before buying any product. One day, she walks into a local retailer pricing out digital cameras. She writes down several camera model numbers so she can go online later that evening to see if she can find it cheaper elsewhere. Later that evening, Jane spends two or three hours surfing the Internet before she finds the camera she likes at the price she is willing to pay.

Sound familiar?

Imagine if Jane could just call a phone number, punch in the UPC code of the camera, and wait a few seconds while a database searches the Internet to compare prices for her. Imagine if she could then buy the camera right there on the spot. Sounds like a future technological advancement, doesn’t it? Not quite the future; it’s already here.

Online shopping has made it easier for consumers to get what they want, whenever they want it at the prices they want. Every major brick and mortar retailer now has a presence online not including the smaller, more specialized retailers located around the world. However, the vast array of online retailers can make it difficult for consumers to find the products they are looking for at the most affordable price. In addition, consumers do not have time to spend hours in front of their computers scouring across Internet looking for products. Consumers are demanding a better, more efficient and less cumbersome way to compare and buy products online. Frucall has stepped up to the challenge and has introduced a new way to compare prices online.

Frucall is a new, innovative service that enables consumers to compare products online using their mobile phones. This alleviates the valuable time spent trying to accomplish the same thing in front of a computer. In today’s increasingly connected world, everyone has a mobile phone with them at all times which makes the Frucall service so attractive.

Here is how Frucall works. Customers first sign up online for their free account. In their profile, they store their mobile phone number and optional credit card information. Then, when they are shopping at the mall, they simply call the toll free phone number and type in the UPC code of the product of interest. In a few seconds, the Frucall service will read the results to the customer. It’s that easy.

At the present time Frucall’s service only queries Amazon.com because that’s currently the only service that allows Web Services queries. However, that will change as additional online retailers allow Web Services queries are added.

The ability to do voice-based comparison shopping through a mobile phone is a captivating concept whose time has definitely come. In a world where so many of our daily activities are performed with a mobile phone, the Frucall service takes its capabilities one step further. If you are a busy consumer that values convenience and services that are helpful in saving you time, then Frucall is exactly what you need. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain from using the Frucall service.

A True Review Of Comparison Shopping With A Mobile Phone

Michael Brito asked:

Today, many consumers who make purchases online won’t buy anything until they consult with a comparison shopping website first such as Shopzilla, Cnet.com, or Shopping.com. They understand that comparison shopping ensures that they are getting the best deal around, which is what most value conscious shoppers want after all. However, with today’s social and lifestyle pace being faster than ever, there is a growing need for comparison shopping on the go. Sure, there are laptops and wireless connections all over the place, but the average person is more likely to leave home with their cell phone instead of their laptop. So, the need for comparison shopping using a mobile phone was answered and there are several ways to take advantage of this new technology.

Google SMS

Google recently launched a new service that allows U.S. mobile phone users to tap into its search results via the short message service (SMS) infrastructure. Users send queries to GOOGL or 46645 and receive results on their phones. The service returns directory information about local businesses via Google Local and provides price comparison shopping information through Froogle.com. It also lets users search for residential phone numbers, dictionary definitions and Web search results snippets. Google SMS also does calculations, area code look-ups and ZIP code look-ups. Results usually come within a minute, and are text-based only.

This is a great alternative to wasting gas money and time driving all over the city looking for the best deal.

Frucall

Launched in March 2006 as the first price-comparison mobile service using voice, Frucall allows consumers to compare retail store prices with prices for the same products on Amazon.com and online comparison shopping service Yahoo Shopping, directly from their mobile phone. It’s a simple solution that sidelines many services that offer price comparison results to be sent via text message. Even better, is that consumers can soon buy products directly from their mobile phone, assuming they have registered and have a valid credit card in their profile.

Frucall enables consumers in the midst of examining retail aisles to call a toll-free number (888-FRU-SHOP) and input the product’s barcode. Within approximately 10 seconds, the caller gets a confirmation of the product name and the price of the product as listed online. Currently, the service compares prices for products from a variety of categories available on Amazon including automotive supplies, books, electronics, jewelry, movies, music, tools and pet supplies. There are even features that will allow consumers to save purchase history, makes notes, and reminders.

Lastly, is that Frucall be accessed from any phone and since the results are not returned via SMS, there are no text messaging fees that sometimes occurs with Google SMS.

Conclusion

With cell phones being as popular as socks, and everyone from age 10 to 100 having one, there is no surprise that mobile phone comparison shopping services are taking off.

It is a simple concept that brings tremendous value for consumers who are looking to save a few dollars; and they can now feel confident about making the right purchasing decision, online or offline.
